Supportive maintenance therapy follows a periodontal treatment. Within eight weeks after periodontal treatment, you may need supportive maintenance therapy. This is the ideal time to check the depth of pockets around the teeth clean to remove lingering stains and obvious tartar if needed.

Dental care professional will review your teeth maintenance plan during your supportive maintenance therapy, including the best approach for your maintenance regime. If you fail to adhere to the treatment plan, a repeat of the treatment will be necessary.
